               Our Team
               Hively Construction Company is a team filled with experienced engineers, estimators, project managers, safety coordinators, superintendents, and payroll and accounting staff.

               Mr. Lee R. Hively, Jr., President, founded the company in April of 1986.  He is a 1974 graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a lifelong resident of Canfield, Ohio.  Lee worked as a laborer in the field for 9 years serving as Foreman and Job Superintendent, and then got involved in the Estimating and Project Management aspect of construction.  Then, in 1986 began Hively Construction.  He is very involved in many local organizations.  Lee was past president of the Youngstown Shrine Club, and still a very active member, a member of the board for the Erie Hospital for Burned and Crippled Children, a member of the Builder’s Association, The Chamber of Commerce, The Canfield Conservation Club, the Jesters, Al Koran, The Penguin Club at Youngstown State University, The Ice Castle Scholarship Fund at Youngstown State University, and a huge supporter of the Canfield Local Schools.  Mr. Hively is also an active member at the Canfield United Methodist Church.
               Mr. Ryan J. Hively, Project Manager/Estimator, joined Hively Construction in 1996.  He is a graduate of Canfield High School in 1996.  Ryan oversees various types of projects for our company, while concentrating on the day to day operations of each job.  Ryan is currently the President of the Youngstown Shrine Club, a member of the Ice Castle Scholarship Fund, The Canfield Rotary and a member of the Builder’s Association.

               Mr. Kenneth S. Votaw, Project Manager/Estimator, has been with Hively Construction since January, 1990.  He is a 1973 graduate of Bowling Green State University, with a degree in Engineering.  Ken also served in the U.S. Military for 2 years.  Ken has experience in estimating, design, field supervision and construction management.  Ken is a retired Bricklayer out of Local 8, and has 32 years experience in the construction industry.  He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our organization.
               Mr. Bryan J. Horne, E.I.T., Project Manager/Estimator, joined our team in June of 1995.  He is a 1996 Youngstown State University graduate with a B.S.A.S. in Civil Engineering and a minor in Mathematics.  Bryan is responsible for estimating, project management and purchasing for all of his projects.  Bryan brings energy and enthusiasm to our company and is a great team player.  He handles our Pre-engineered Metal Building division, and has handled the largest pre-engineered buildings in this area.  Bryan also handles conventional, industrial, institutional and governmental jobs at Hively Construction.
               Mrs. Rebecca H. Votaw, Office Manager, has been with the company since 1996.  She is a 2003 graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management.  Becky handles the day to day operations of the office, including, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, workers compensation, union reporting and general accounting.  She also assists the project managers and estimators.  She is our safety coordinator and handles our OSHA policies.
               Mr. Lee R. Hively, III, Superintendent, has been with the organization since 1990.  He is a 1991 Canfield High School graduate.  Rob is a union Carpenter Journeyman out of the Carpenters Local 171, and is an active member that holds his 30 Hour OSHA Safety card, as well as serving as a stewart for the union.  Mr. Hively is an active member of the Youngstown Shrine Club and the JM Foundation for the North Jackson Schools. 

               Mr. Hugh A. Hively, Superintendent, has been with our company since it’s inception in 1986.  Hugh is a Journeyman Ironworker out of Local 207, and has served as our main field superintendent since he began here.  He is a 1971 Canfield High School graduate, and has also served in the U.S. Military.  Hugh carries the 30 Hour OSHA Safety card.  He is an active member of the Youngstown Shrine Club, The Ice Castle Scholarship Fund at Youngstown State University and the Canfield Conservation Club.  He is also a wrestling coach for South Range schools.  Hugh oversees every job that we have going, to ensure that they are well staffed and progressing as they should be, on a day to day basis.
               Mr. Rodger Shuback, Superintendent, joined Hively Construction in 1986.  Rodger is the 1969 Class Valedictorian of Canfield High School, and a 1973 graduate of Dartmouth College with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, and held a 4.0 throughout his college career.  He carries his 30 Hour OSHA Safety card.  Rodger has been superintendent on many jobs here and is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of construction.  He oversees the entire job, not just with our own crews, but with other primes and subs that are working on our jobs, to ensure safety, the best end product, and timeliness on each and every project.

               Mr. Joseph Cario, Superintendent, joined the company in 1995.  He is a 1985 graduate of Youngstown State University.  Joe has served as project superintendent since he joined the company in 1995.  Joe has a wide variety of experience including a vast knowledge of sitework.
